MARK OF W. & P. CUNNINGHAM, EDINBURGH, 1802
Vase shaped and with pedestal base on four partly-fluted ball feet, the lower body with part fluting, the base engraved with acorns and oak leaves, the rim and shoulder engraved with foliage scrolls, the detachable cover with a detachable pine-cone finial, with lion's mask drop-ring handles, with curved spigot, the tap cross-bar lacking, the interior fitted with a collar and liner with cast-iron heating rod, marked on base, cover bezel and collar, the finial apparently unmarked

The inscription reads 'To David Falconer Pennant Esqre Of Nantlys From the Tenants of Bodfari and Tremeirchion and other Well Wishers, on his Attaining his Majority April 16th 1888 .
The arms are those of Pennant, quartering others, for David Falconer Pennant Esq. (1867-1938), Deputy Lieutenant and Justice of the Peace.
