Lot Essay

The 'EHB' brand is that of the London entrepreneur marchand-mercier and dealer Edward Holmes Baldock (1777-1845) who supplied so many of the great early nineteenth century English collectors, particularly George IV, the Duke of Northumberland, George Byng and the 5th Duke of Buccleuch and 7th Duke of Queensberry.
