A TURKISH YATAGHTAN; AND A TURKISH SILVER-MOUNTED YATAGHTAN

The first with curved blade inlaid with a gold koftgari pentangle on the other, gilt metal filigree hilt encrusted with coral beads and pastes, fitted with walrus ivory grip-scales rising to form a large eared pommel, and in its original scabbard with embossed brass mounts; the second of characteristic form, the hilt encased in silver embossed and chased in low relief (pommel damaged) and in its original scabbard covered in tooled leather with large decorated silver mounts
the first -- 23 in. (58.5 cm.); the second -- 25¾ in. (65.5 cm.) blade (2)
