Lot Essay

Of attractively slender proportions, this elegant commode has much in common with the oeuvre of the celebrated Stockholm cabinet-making dynasty of Ludwig and Johan Neijber, and related pieces are illustrated in T. Sylvén, Mästarnas Möbler: Stockholmsarbeten 1700-1850, Stockholm, 1996, pp.276-277, as well as in M. Lagerquist, Rokokomöbler, Stockholm, 1949, ill. 43-44.
