A very rare French white marble weight driven table regulator
Brosse. Circa 1820
The silvered Roman dial with blued steel hands and seconds ring at XII, the escapement of detent form interacting with the mercury jar pendulum swinging above the clock on a spring suspension, the motive force from two bronze-patinated ormolu mounted pear-shaped weights suspended from pulleys, the lines passing over pulleys in the marble canopy above and down through the steel columns into the sarcophagus white marble base with reeded ormolu columns and resting on a stepped white marble base
