The case with double-S brass baluster handle to the domed top, later finials, replaced sound frets to the doors and to the glazed sides, good quality foliate cast brass escutcheons, the moulded base on later block feet, the dial with shallow arch signed Tho Cattell London in an arc within engraved foliage, the silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with pierced blued steel hands, matted centre with mock pendulum and calendar aperture with adjustment aperture, winged cherub spandrels, within a wheatear engraved border and with strike/silent lever by chapter 15, the movement with five ring-turned pillars, re-converted verge escapement with Webster-style foliate pierced and engraved backcock, rebuilt pull quarter repeat on three bells via three hammers with hour strike on a further larger bell, the backplate profusely engraved with scrolling foliage, visible barrel click wheels with foliate engraved wishbone springs and signed Tho Cattell Londini Fecit within a cartouche, with blued steel movement securing brackets to the case
