No VAT will be charged on the hammer price, but VA… Read more This photograph was taken by the photographer, Sefton Samuels, during an informal photo shoot at Lowry's house in Mottram-in-Longdendale. Having photographed Lowry in his front room and studio Samuels asked him how he would like to be photographed and what he liked doing best, Lowry replied "I'll show you". He then went into his living room where he reclined in his stained old armchair and put his feet on the mantlepiece, declaring this to be his favourite occupation and that he could stay there for hours!
