Lot Essay

A remarkable 'minimalist' watercolour, the result of a 'purified' vision of reality. Here again, Jennings manages to create a gentle movement out of the tension between the two primary colours, blue and red, the pale blue shape bottom right helping re-balance the composition which would otherwise tilt to the right due to the 'weight' of the bright red.
