The sides carved in deep relief with a couple in eighteenth century dress, a family meal, a farewell scene and a ship, the cover pierced with a monogram and winged angels in each corner, under the base carved with a flower knot. Later adapted to a post box with a later aperture in the top and an engraved brass plaque inscribed 'The Post leaves at 5'
