A mature woman in a revealing robe is writing a letter in which can be seen the words Minamina-sama e yoroshiku o-tsutae kudasarubeku-soro. Sono uchi maira... [Please give my best wishes to everyone. Soon I'll come...], signed Utamaro hitsu, published by Tsuruya Kinsuke, good impression, colours and condition, small wormholes restored, laid down

The accompanying text reads Uchitoketa, yo de kokoro ni, yudan naku, itsu mo nikoniko, ureshiso nari, and has been translated by Shugo Asano and Timothy Clark as "She appears unreserved and her mind is alert: always smiling, this seems to be a happy disposition".
