A SHAKUDO, THREE SENTOKU AND AN IRON TSUBA
Edo Period (19th Century)
An otafuku mokkogata shakudo tsuba inlaid in gilt hirazogan with a mantis on a dished plate, unsigned, Kaga School; a sentoku tanto tsuba formed as a hare jumping over waves, with signature Mito ju Tsuju Saku; a kawarigata sentoku plate, chiselled in low relief with waves and spray, gilt detail, and carved in katakiri with a poem, signed Akishige Okamasa; a sentoku tanto tsuba chiselled all over with clouds, signed Jo Ryusai, dated Bunka 11 (1814-15); and a mokkogata iron tanto tsuba inlaid in iroe takazogan with flowers and a roof tile, signed Yoshimitsu
