Unsigned, attributed to Jumyo, Edo-Meiji Period (19th Century)
A slightly curved hirazukuri tanto with indistinct hada and partial hamon of gunome, in a wakizashi mounting, the lacquer simulating tree bark, all fittings are in the form of snakes in shibuichi, with a bamboo kozuka inlaid with a snake of wood, the tsuba inscribed Genshosai Masaharu, the fuchi inscribed Narinobu, the bamboo kozuka inscribed Sesshu Rokka ju Shodon (a spurious name, 'Laughing Gulper' of 'Flowers of the Waves', Settsu Province), 19th century
