Decorated in gold hiramakie, nashiji and aogai inlay over a black lacquer ground, on the fall front, two ho-o in front of kiri and tachibana, the top with a pair of ho-o, one side with another pair of birds amongst tachibana and kikyo and the other with butterflies and dragonflies amongst Chinese bellflowers and hagi, the back with karakusa, each panel bordered with namban karakusa and shippo pattern, the interior with a central drawer, the front built as an architectural arch in relief, surrounded by various sized drawers, the copper mounts with vines
