With flush-fitting lid, with three tiers resting on four bracket feet, the exterior kinji ground decorated in gold and red takamaki-e, kirikane and, togidashi-e, depicting on the cover two long-tailed birds on a flowering cherry tree beside a waterfall, the sides with camelias, pine and bamboo shoots, and grasses beside a stream, the interior nashiji with fundame rims, comprising a tray and two further boxes, the tray with hydrangea and the boxes with a continuous scene of two birds in flight over flowers
