Of squat ovoid form with applied gilt foot and rim, the black enamel ground worked in silver and gilt wire with a central roundel depicting stylised floral and butterfly designs between two bands of floral lappets, the cover similarly worked, a gilt knop finial in the form of a partially open chrysanthemum blossom, attributed to the Namikawa workshop
