A late 18th/early 19th-Century lacquered-brass botanist's simple microscope,
unsigned, with lens arm atop a triangular section pillar with rack and pinion adjustment to the sprung stage, and concave mirror, tilting via a compass joint to a brass pillar and folding splayed tripod legs, with three objectives, spare lens arm and ring, three ivory sliders and four ivory cells, in a gilt-tooled leather-covered green velvet-lined case -- 16 x 10.6cm. (6¼ x 4 1/8in.)
