A rare 19th-Century lacquered-brass Dickinson's anemometer,
signed Dickinson's Anemometer No159 Casartelli Manchester, the brass frame with swivelling bubble level at the base, two sighting apertures at the side, the other side with a swivelling aperture arm, the silver quadrant scale folding out from the frame and graduated 200-700 Feet per Minute with 20ft subdivisions, to be read off by a black-painted metal flap hinged to the top of the frame, in a leather pouch, the flap impressed with DICKENSON'S [sic] ANEMOMETER CASARTELLI OPTICIAN MANCHESTER -- 11.5cm. (4½in.) wide
