A late 18th Century lacquered-brass Augsburg-pattern equinoctial sundial,
by Leonhart Müller, the chapter ring graduated for hours IIII-XII, I-IX, with sprung gnomon, the scroll-decorated octagonal horizontal plate with folding latitude arm graduated 2-80° and glazed compass with silvered dial engraved with windrose, four Cardinal points, magnetic north and blued-steel needle, folding plummet support (plummet missing), the underside with latitudes for eight European cities and initialled LTM, in a blue silk-lined leather-covered shaped card case with brass hook and eye (hinge split) -- 6.1cm. (2 3/8cm.) wide
