A George III oak and mahogany banded longcase clock, circa 1785
The hood with swan neck cresting above verre eglomisé panel, outset column flanking a moulded frame, the trunk flanked by pilasters, above plinth with applied panel, the 13 in. square cut-away brass dial with foliate spandrels to a silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with dot minute track, silvered centre engraved with foliate scrolls, moonphase and date ring, the eight day movement with four pillars, anchor escapement and rack strike on bell; dial and movement possibly associated to case -- 91½ in. (232 cm.) high; two weights, pendulum, crank key
