The Gothic revival case with sound frets to the sides, tracery arch front door and sight ring to the silvered and engraved Roman dial with retail signature Army & Navy C.S./Ld, blued steel axe-head hands, the arch with subsidiary rings for slow/fast, chime/silent and full chime/Westminster chime selection, the substantial eight day triple chain fusee movement with anchor escapement, hour strike on gong and quarter chimes on eight bells, with holdfast to the back plate -- 28½ in.
