The chamfer top case with pierced brass frets to the sides, the silvered and engraved Roman dial signed Widenham/No.13 Lombard Street,/London/MAKER. to the Royal Navy, the eight day movement with shouldered plates joined by four pillars, single gut fusee with anchor escapement, the plain back plate with pendulum holdfast -- 15¾ in. Provenance
By repute, this was the boardroom clock of the Bank of Australasia, London, until October 1951, when the Bank merged with the Union Bank of Australia Ltd.
