A pair of cloisonne enamel vases, gu, 18th century
of slender form, the ovoid mid-section with raised flanges between the spread foot and tapering neck decorated on turquoise ground in archaistic style with cicada lappets enclosing taotie masks, surmounted by a trumpet-shaped mouth with a ruyi band above a foliated lotus scroll also around the base -- maximum 11 7/8in. (30.2cm.) high (2)
