A large Cantonese famille rose vase, 19th century
of baluster shape with a tapering neck and flared and foliated rim, the handles modelled as a Buddhistic lion and cub clutching a ball, with four dragons applied to the shoulder, decorated with variously shaped panels enclosing dignitaries and ladies at court, all reserved on a foliated floral ground with bats, birds and cash motifs, with two pairs of confronting dragons pursuing the flaming pearl above the foot -- 34 9/16in.
