MARK OF ROBERT ALBIN COX, LONDON, 1758,
Of baluster form with domed cover & chair-back thumbpiece, engraved to front, above an applied reeded girdle, with a ship in full sail encircled by an inscription within a wreath, "The Garland.Captn. John Woodall.Present.To Miss Ann Coulson", 8¼ in. high (21 cm.), 27.75 oz.

Further details
Colledge J.J., "Ships of the Royal Navy", (Revised Edition, 2003), lists "The Garland" as a 24-gun, 6th.rate ship, launched at Sheerness on 13/8/1748, hulked in 1768 & sold on 2/12/1783. In 1758 it was apparently employed as a cruiser.
