A GEORGE III SILVER PRESENTATION TRAY,
MARK OF JOHN WAKELIN & WILLIAM TAYLOR, LONDON, 1780,
Oval with stylised leaf border, inner beaded rim & wood base, engraved with a border of alternate anthemions & pendent flowers within a continuous band of beaded loops, the centre engraved with the arms of the University of Cambridge & two laurel wreaths enclosing a Latin inscription, "Ex dono Academia Cantabrigiensis A.D. MDCCLXXX", 23¾ in. long (60.4 cm.).
