AN UNUSUAL GEORGE II SILVER SWING-HANDLED HOLY WATER BUCKET,
MARK OF JOHN HUGH LE SAGE, LONDON, 1741,
Circular with chased sides decorated with spiral fluting incorporating panels of overlapping shells, the body sitting upon a leaf-chased calyx which descends to a spreading foot with central girdle, the rim of the bowl chased with flowers & foliate scrolls, the similarly chased swing handle centred by a crested oval cartouche, 8¼ in. high (21 cm.), 5¾ in. diameter (14.5 cm.), 21.5 oz.
