A GEORGE III SCOTTISH VOLUNTEER OFFICER'S PARCEL-GILT SILVER SHOULDER-BELT PLATE OF THE ROYAL ATHOLE VOLUNTEERS, PERTHSHIRE,
MARK OF THOMAS MERITON, LONDON, 1803,
Engraved with a buckle & strap border inscibed around it in Gaelic "CLAN NA GAIDHEAL AN GUAILIBH CHEILE. MDCCCIII", the centre engraved with the royal crown, "G.111.R" and a thistle all above an applied strung bugle horn with the word "PERTHSHIRE" upon it, "ROYAL ATHOLE" within the strings & "VOLUNTEERS" below, 3½ in. long (9 cm.).
