The silvered finial, atop a varnished wooden staff, formed as the arms of the City of London below the Prince of Wales's feathers, the circlet of the arms with legend "GUILDHALL * 1863", the tip inscribed "Royal Entertainment Committee" and "Hugh Jones Esq. Sheriff", 77½ in. high (197 cm.)
