The ferrules by William Yates, Sheffield, 1891, with finely-carved ivory handles of baluster form with bead, bud & flower-head decoration, the blade & tines pierced & engraved in the aesthetic manner with oval panels depicting birds swooping over lily-pads on a pond, & intricate scrolling foliage, in original fitted case.
