Pear-shaped with faceted sides, stamped "IMPROVED PATENT", engraved with a crested cartouche above an oval panel chased in relief with a huntsman accompanied by his pack of hounds in rural setting, 7½ in. long (19.2 cm.), gross weight 8 oz.

The crest is that of Porritt as granted to William Henry Porritt of Armley, Co. York & the descendants of his father, David Wright Porritt Esq., apparently used here unofficially prior to being granted by the College of Arms in the mid-19th. century.
