SANDEMAN 1977
Lying London, E.16
Offered duty-paid, but available in bond
Sandeman--Vintage 1977
In original wooden cases
Tasting Note: At Christie's opening tasting: opaque russet purple; a bit lean and spirity, but with good potential. Five years later, delicious but unready. By the end of the 1980s, retaining its youthful looks, while evolving nicely. Only one note since: sweet, rather on the lean side and 'the best wine of the evening'. Last tasted at a Circle of Wine Writers' 'Cyril Ray' Dinner, Nov 1996 *** Drink now - 2010 M.B.
