A RARE OVAL SILVER TOBACCO BOX
apparently unmarked, probably The Netherlands, circa 1680

Of oval form with rounded corners, the reverse chased and engraved in high relief with a reclining woman surrounded by a satyr and two cupids, set in an architectural landscape, the walls with scrolling foliage, flower heads and grotesque masks, the cover chased and engraved with an elderly couple seated at the base of a tree eating lunch, with a dog at side and a villag in the background - 11cm long (193gr)
