AN ARCHAISTIC SPINACH JADE GU CASE
THE JADE 18TH CENTURY, THE MOUNTS LATER
With a cream-coloured cotton pagoda roof-shaped shade, secured by a jade foliate finial surmounting the brass lamp stand which issues two branches forming an S-shape, above a triangular tiled roof hut with a jade vase-shaped body, the jade of rectangular section carved in shallow relief around the central knop with a 'taotie' mask on each side, between key pattern and blades around the neck and base, all divided by vertical raised flanges on the four corners and the centre of each side, the dark green stone with slight mottling, above a spreading squared plinth base also decorated with greek-key band and foliate decoration, drilled for electricity
