I had forgotten how attractive the '93 were, still are, until assembling notes to give a sort of overview. The growing season began well: early budding and successful flowering. However, the summer was warm and wet with mildew threats which had to be countered with a great deal of care and attention. Happily, August was hot and dry, with good ripening conditions which thickened the skins-fairly heavy rains in the third week of September. Most wines are ready but the most tannic still have a little way to go. MB Vintage Wine
