CHATEAU LA FLEUR-PETRUS
The name suggests a creation no less than the winning combination of say Harry Winston and Dior. In reality, the wine receives its title from its fortunate location just between Lafleur and Pétrus. Like Pétrus, Jean-Pierre Moueix purchased the estate in 1952 and replanted the entire vineyard in 1956 due to frost damage. The nine hectares of gravel rich soils and 18 months of barrique ageing create a wine known for its elegance and suppleness. While the château does not promise blockbuster extracted juice year after year, it does consistently deliver grace and style.
Château La Fleur-Pétrus--Vintage 1990
Pomerol
Lot 1011 scuffed labels
Lot 1012 in original wooden case
"The 1990 is noticeably less concentrated than the 1989. The bouquet offers aromas of tobacco, coffee, mocha, and red fruits intertwined with scents of new oak. In the mouth, the wine is medium-bodied, moderately endowed, and admirably pure, with moderate tannins and crisp acidity - unusual for a 1990. Drink it over the next 10-12 years." Bordeaux Book, 3rd Edition (1998). Robert Parker
