His talent was accepted. Working as an organ builder in daily life, Pieter Dik was an autodidact, who spent every free minute walking in the dunes observing the animals. His goal was to paint them in complete harmony with the landscape. He painted primarily birds and wild life such as deer, boars and hares in their natural environment. His work is very much appreciated by both hunters and nature lovers in Northern Europe and the United States.
