Each with lobed ball finials on brass stems joined by similar stretchers, the X-frame supports decorated with punched stellar motifs and with rosette roundels (2)

By repute, these stools were loaned to Westminster Cathedral for the enthronement of Archbishop John Heenan, and a similar example remains at Westminster Cathedral. A stool of very similar design, from The Collection of the late Henk Nieboer, removed from Schloss Herblingen, sold Christie's, London, 28 June, 2000, lot 665.
