FIRST QUARTER 19TH CENTURY, ATTRIBUTABLE TO GILLOWS
With a pair of three-panelled doors, crossbanded and with reeded mouldings, enclosing an arrangement of twenty variously sized drawers all with rosewood knob handles, on scrolled and roundel decorated bracket feet, bearing a depository label to the reverse 'COUNTESS LICHFIELD AUG 59' and inscribed by hand '39'

Possibly supplied by Gillows to Thomas Anson for Shugborough, Staffs, in the early 19th century when the house was being remodelled and enlarged by the architect Samuel Wyatt (d.1807). Anson's son Thomas William was created Earl of Lichfield in 1831.
