The vase carved with two mouth openings joined below by a partial wall, the white chalcedony areas of the stone used for the vase and the soft reddish carnelian areas of the stone used for the fruit-laden peach branch and lingzhi fungus carved in high relief around the sides, as well as a small bat on a gnarled area of the trunk and a phoenix grasping a lingzhi stalk in its beak at rest on a branch at the rim; together with a yellowish-ivory serpentine ruyi sceptre
