The curved hilt carved with flowers and leaves and slender raised ribs between two bands of leaves below a separately made end carved with further leaves and flanking three stemmed flowers inset with gold- bordered foil-backed ruby 'cabochons', the velvet-covered scabbard with similar carved mounts and a small loop on one side of the upper scabbard mount
