WANLI SIX-CHARACTER MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE WITHIN A DOUBLE CIRCLE AND OF THE PERIOD (1573-1619)
Painted and enamelled with four quatrefoil medallions enclosing birds in flight amidst fruiting and flowering branches bearing pomegranates and peaches, separated by eight detached fruit and flower sprays, above upright lappets, the slanting shoulder with four smaller lobed cartouches alternating scenes of birds on fruiting and flowering boughs, all against a diaper ground
