Each set on four low elongated feet, the interior decorated with butterflies and peony, chrysanthemum, lily and other floral sprays reserved on a lime green ground, the rim gilded

Lot Essay

It is very rare to find dishes of this shape with this type of decoration. A box and cover with lime-green ground, and with finely enamelled butterflies and flowers similar to those on the present pair of dishes, also with Qianlong mark and of the period and from the collection of J. T. Tai, was offered at Sotheby's, Hong Kong, 21 May 1985, lot 29.
