One inscription may be translated:
'Her lotus foot steps lightly out of her boudoir
Her poise graceful and coquettish as her dress perfumes the air'.
The other inscription is excerpted from 'Niao Nuo', a poem by the Tang dynasty poet Han Wo: 'Delicate and slender waists; simply made-up faces; six dynasties of palatial beauties in close-fitting gowns and dresses'.
