One side red, the opposing green, the kings modelled as elephants with bone supported howdahs and the queens as caparisoned elephants, fitted in a gilt-heightened painted wood box, sliding lid and label inscribed in ink For Charles P.Chenevix Trench from C.C.T.
The kings -- 2¾in. (7cm.) high; the pawns -- 1¼in. (3.2cm.) high
