Lot Essay

Michael Mark discusses and illustrates a set by William Lund, of similar concentrically turned baluster form with ornamental embellishments and similar rooks. Mark also refers to Indian sets of an identical design. See British Chess Sets 1700-1950, catalogue published by Asprey and Chess Collectors International, May 1986, exhibit 6.
