A Gilt Bronze figure of Vajravarahi
Tibet, Densatil, circa 14th century
Finely cast dancing on a prostrated figure atop a double-lotus base, holding a chopper in her right hand and a skullcup and khatvanga staff in her left, wearing a beaded and festooned apron, multiple necklaces, armbands and bracelets inset with hardstones, a garland of severed heads, the face with expressively delineated brows and third eye, the sow's head emerging from behind her right ear, her billowing sash forming a mandorla, the reverse with lacquer
