Lot Essay

These doorplates would serve as hinges when attached to a wooden door with nails through the pierced holes. The execution is exceptionally fine; for other examples, see D. LaRocca, Warriors of the Himalayas, Rediscovering the Arms and Armor of Tibet, 2006, figs. 25-28, p. 28.
