Born in Onma Village, Aichi Prefecture, Yukimasa studied stage design with Setsu Asakura and graduated from the Kuwasawa Design Research Institute in 1968. A designer of posters, album covers, commercials and films, he established Workshop Mu!! in 1970 and The Studio Tokyo Japan in 1979. He is a member of the Tokyo Art Directors Club and has won its awards for stage design, magazine advertisement, poster and book design. He has been a professor of art at Joshibi University, Yokohama, since April 2005.
