Edo period (17th century), signed Inoue Shinkai and dated Enpo sannen hachigatsu (no) hi [a day in the eighth month of the third year of the Enpo era (1675)]
Sugata [configuration]: honzukuri, iori-mune, chu-kissaki with shallow toriizori curvature
Kitae [forging pattern]: itame of jinie
Hamon [tempering pattern]: gentle notare more pronounced in the monouchi of nie with nioi and sunagashi
Boshi [tip]: ko-maru with a sharp turnback
Nakago [tang]: ubu, ha-agari kurijiri with sujikai file marks, one peg hole
Habaki [collar]: double, gilt-metal
In shirasaya [plain wood storage scabbard] with inscription by Sato Kanzan, dated autumn, 1976
Nagasa [length from tip to beginning of tang]: 69.3cm.
Sori [curvature]: 1cm.
Motohaba [width at start of tempered edge]: 3.3cm.
Sakihaba [width at tip]: 2.2cm.
