A Small Inlaid Celadon Jar
Koryo dynasty (13th century)
Of high-shouldered ovoid form inlaid in white and iron slip with demilune panels of chrysanthemums with white-slip blossoms and iron-slip leaves within border arches of white and iron slip, the panels intersected below the rim with further flowers, and inlaid above the foot with bands of fretwork and lappets above the base, the body covered by a celadon glaze; the cover inlaid around the knop in white slip by a single chrysanthemum flower surrounded by three sprays of iron-slip leaves and also covered by a celadon glaze; interior stopper of lid unglazed, three spur marks on base
